TAI CHI WITH CHARLIE
Free practice for fun and community.
Make a little warm-up part of your daily regime.
Charlie Conrad is a retired journeyman printer, Korean war veteran, grandfather and social activist.
A somewhat non-traditional Shaolin student, he didn't begin his formal practice of Tai Chi and Kung-Fu until the age of 84. Now, at 95, he attributes his longevity to a simple daily exercise regime.
After completing his morning stretch and warm-up, Charlie shares his Tai Chi practice, free for anyone Monday through Friday at 7 a.m. by the Community Center in Brand Park.
Come and join us for some simple Chi Kung breathing, meditation, and the widely practiced Beijing University 24-posture Combined Tai Chi form. One of Charlie's favorite Tai Chi games is called "Tai Chi Sticky Hands." This is a chance to learn and play this rarely taught aspect of Tai Chi Chuan.
Join Charlie and Stefan at 7 a.m. at Brand Park, Mission Hills, CA every week day!
